Bio

Adrian Dunbar leads CBL’s legal operations division, orchestrating integrated high-quality and cost effective legal advice with language translation support services. He enables international businesses to fully engage and benefit from local legal expertise.

Previously, he served as a corporate compliance lawyer focused on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) with Willkie, Farr & Gallagher. Later, he worked for a major pharmaceuticals company in-house specializing in anti-bribery and kickback compliance in China, developing expertise in legal operations from the business perspective.

During this time, he developed deep expertise in legal translation as a vehicle for providing global executives with actionable business intelligence, becoming the fourth person to earn the Certified Translator in Chinese to English by the ATA. The Chinese legislature sought his advice on English translation of its Civil Code, and invited him as a national conference speaker on this topic.

In addition to law, Adrian is an expert on doing business with China. Previously, he played a key role in early stage outbound localization initiatives for successful companies including TikTok and later SheIn, providing Chinese businesses with critical advice on breaking into western markets. Based on his reputation, legendary Chinese auteur Yi Zhongtian tapped Adrian for a credited localization role in his 2025 Three Kingdoms film.

In his current role, Adrian applies his expertise in law, business, and language to provide integrated solutions for international businesses in China.
